In the winter our skin becomes really dry, that’s why it’s so important to take care of your skin. After all, have you ever put makeup on dry flaky skin? It’s awful, right? Remember regularly exfoliate, clean and moisturize your skin! It’s one of the most important winter wedding makeup tips to consider before preparing for your wedding.

3. Choose a silicone based foundation
Do you know that before choosing a liquid foundation you should make sure that it is silicone based? If you are going to hire a makeup artist, it’s okay, because most of them know this, however you should check it out. It is so important because I’m sure you don’t want your makeup to melt off when you will be on the dance floor!

4. Opt for no liquid foundations
When I said that a silicone based foundation is the best choice I wanted you to pay attention to this thing. After all, liquid foundations can make your skin much drier and can cause it to sink into wrinkles you don’t even have. That’s why you should consider that in the winter and avoid any liquid foundations.

5. Wear bright lipstick
Even if you are going to hire a makeup artist, you have still got to learn some winter wedding makeup tips, which will work for you! Wearing bright lipstick is something that always works great not only for weddings, but also for any winter time makeup. Bold and bright blues are an amazing accent color for wedding, however if you go with something pale and soft, instead of making you stand out, it will fade right into the snow. This winter wedding makeup tip is to avoid the blues and pick up something that matches your wedding theme!

Concealer Tip

Create the effect of a flawless complexion using the most flattering concealer shade and formula. In order to guarantee the dazzling success of your makeup base, keep in mind the following trick. Apply concealer in thin layers as the secret to a natural-looking effect. Hide flaws using a smaller brush and your fave concealer. Pay special attention to the tiniest details to make a smashing impression with your casual or party look.

Foundation Tip

Those who are eager to master the art of creating the perfect base should pay attention to the following beauty secret: in order to ease the application of foundation, use a sponge from now on.

The amazing result of your makeover is guaranteed if you keep the sponge wet and then apply the foundation on it. This is the secret of the makeup artist Sarah Lucero to build up the hottest red carpet looks of super-famous and beloved celebrities.

Highlighter Tip

Emphasize your natural beauty using the beauty trick offered by the ultra-successful makeup artist Carmindy. Use a creamy highlighter formula to draw attention to your perfectly defined cheeks and glimpse in general.

Your fingers should serve as the best application tools for this beauty fix. Apply the highlighter on your brow bone just below the eyebrows, the inside corners of your eyes then you can finish up the ultimate makeover with the cheekbones.

Eyeliner Tip

Carmindy also grants us with a trick on how to make the most of our eyeliner makeup during the summer. As creamy eye shadows tend to melt down and smudge due to high temperatures, it is highly recommended to opt for a waterproof gel eyeliner. Define your eyes by applying some eyeliner on your upper lash line. In order to create a super-soft and neat look all you have to do is grab a cotton swab and use the smudging technique. In this case you can leave the lids bare as the eyeliner can create the ideal definition without the help of a bright or neutral eyeshadow.

Eyeshadow Tip

Pro makeup artists know how important it is to build up an A-list eye makeup. Therefore, if you wish to follow their footsteps, make sure you experiment with the following tip. The newest makeup trends allow you to tackle the lower lash line when it comes to emphasizing your alluring glimpse. In order to create a neat and at the same time super-flattering impression, use at least two shades to tackle this spot. Apply the medium tone right under the lashes and the darker shade right below the lash line. The effect will be simply overwhelming. Practice more to nail down the most inspiring looks from bollywood.

Makeup Tips to Use After Marriage

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  06:07   women beauty tips

Now you have just got married and want to look like a fairy princess every day. Let me tell you that its super easy and takes 10-15 minutes, initially, and with practice in no time – you’ll be all ready. Let’s start :

Cleanse
Start with cleansing your face so that there is no residue or dirt left. Gently wash your face with a cleanser to have clean skin.

Moisturize
Moisturize your skin with a good moisturizer. Take a small amount and apply small dots all over and gently massage all over the face. It moisturizes and hydrates your skin and ensures an even and long lasting application of Makeup

Foundation
Foundation gives you an even tone and gives an illusion of flawless skin. Go to any good beauty store and ask for foundation that matches your skin tone. Using clean hands – apply foundation on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Using your fingers, sponge or brush – blend it well. Blending is the key step here so take your time to create a flawless finish

Blush On
Adding a Blush on your face will give a youthful glow. Pink and Apricot are most suited for Indian skin tones. Use a foundation brush and buff the blush in the skin and then apply one more layer. Keep buffing till you get desired intensity.

Lip Color
For Indian Skin Tones (Medium to olive tones) try neutral colours such as apricots, beiges and nudes. To avoid over-doing, take a good sheer color and apply on your lips. You can use a Lip Stick – start from center and follow the natural arch of lips to the corner of lips. Repeat on the opposite sides.

Eye Liner
Your Eye Pencil helps you achieve a dramatic look and you will stand out nice and pretty among other females.  Outline your upper lid to have a natural and subtle look but if you want to add a dramatic and sexy touch, you can outline upper eyelid and lower eyelid both. You can use Brown, Black, Blue, Purple, or Green Color Eye Pencil.

Idea for Beautiful Skin

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  03:22

If you’ve already set the date for wedding, then congratulations. But its now time for you to find a good aesthetician and spa; and find one right away. Most brides just get a good facial done a week before the actual event but that not enough. For a full body glow, it’s very essential for the bride-to-be to have a full body spa treatment done well before the wedding. It’s a good idea to have the treatment spaced out over two to three months to get the full effect of a spa treatment not only on your face but on your body too.

What you should do!

There are many treatments that will be suggested but it’s a good idea to start off with the basics. Here is a simple list of what you can start with from three months before your wedding date to get yourself toned up for the big day.

Three months before the big day- Get your hair trimmed and coloured if you want it. Remember that most hair cuts will require time to grow into the style that the stylist wants. Get the haircut done at the same place as you are having your spa and then plan your entire look around the style you have selected. This long time gap will also give you enough time to change your haircut and look if you don’t like it! Get a gloss treatment done too where your hair shines with health. This treatment is not really available with every spa so check beforehand. Ask your aesthetician for the different varieties of blemish control and relaxing massages that they have. Believe me, the stress of preparing for the wedding can make your skin blotchy. But good blemish control and relaxing massages done once every month can work wonders.

Two months before the big day- Now is the time to actually get down to the body scrubs that are done at spas. A body scrub is wonderful way to polish your dull looking skin and get it into top shape for your big day. Most spas will offer simple sugar scrubs, chocolate scrubs or even aromatherapy scrubs that are wonderfully aromatic and relaxing. To prepare your facial skin, ask for an aromatherapy facial combined with a scrub.

Once month before the big day- Not many people do remember this, but I recommend a Brazilian Wax procedure where all the pubic hair is removed. The process is slightly painful but it’s well worth the pain. You will feel clean and clear and it’s really exciting for your husband too. Doing the procedure a month before ensures that the area will heal well and not hold up your wedding night. Along with a Brazilian, ask for a full body wax, body exfoliation (to touch up the body scrub you did last month), a complete facial and a mani-pedicure. This completes the entire routine for your big day.

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  01:11

With all the importance placed on getting the hair right, making sure skin is in great condition and perfecting your make up, you can be forgiven for forgetting to look after finer details, like your nails. You don’t want to leave nail care for the night before to realize how important it is towards the build up of your big day.
If your real nails are just not in good enough condition, take the easy option and fake it! Here is a lowdown of the nail options available are your fingertips.

Acrylic nails

A false nail is fixed midway up the natural nail. It is then buffed to remove any ridges and filled into shape. The nails are then coated with a mixture of a special powder and paste that is moulded into shape. To give a finish nails needs to be buffed, smoothed and polished. They are strongest and most durable choice of overlay and if applied correctly, can look thin and natural.

Gel nails

These are most popular choice of nails as the finish can be almost like your natural nails. The expert applies a thick polish gel to the nail and sets it under ultraviolet light which hardens to leave you with a strong and shiny set of nails. When applied and removed professionally, gels will do a little damage to your natural nails. Gel gives the natural and light weight finish – ideal for those with broken or weak nails.

Fibre glass nails

This option is not as popular as gels and acrylic but is a great option for those who have nails that break easily. The application involves fibre strips being cut into the desired shape and glued to the nail plate. It is perfect option for someone with brittle nails and who wants to adds some strength to it.
Although the artificial nails are crafted so skilfully and so elegantly that sometime it becomes difficult to distinguish an artificial nail from the real one. But artificial nail can never substitute natural nail so it is always better to keep natural nails with proper care.

Expert Bridal beauty

I have been in the beauty business from the past seven years and I specialize in bridal make up. The past few years have made me learn a lot especially one thing- that a bride wants to look no less than a miss universe on her wedding day; which from all aspects is fair! All the bride-to-be’s which come to me have hundreds of queries and doubts about how to get that perfect glow and the unmatchable look for their wedding. So, here I am going to spill the beans today. Following are certain well guarded beauty secrets and tips for all the brides so that they all can look no less than a Cleopatra or a princess Diana on their wedding day.

The skin care regimen

You have to start following this from almost 6 months before your wedding day. If you think that just doing make up on your D-day would make you look stunning then you are in for a loss. So start your preparations well in advance. First of all you have to say bye bye to your stress. Many of you would think that how is it related to beauty, but high stress levels directly affect your skin can even cause acne. So start practicing yoga or any other fun activity to keep your stress at bay. Also, drink lots of water to keep your skin well hydrated. Stock in vegetables and fruits which are rich in vitamin-C as it is very important to keep your skin healthy. Get your facials done regularly and indulge in some sort physical activity like running, swimming etc. to keep your skin healthy.

Its hair

It is a misconception that henna is applied only to color the hair. Make sure you apply henna to your hair at least twice a month to get the shine in your hair. The hot oil massage is the best way to keep your hair healthy. Include protein in your diet and eat almonds every morning on an empty stomach to keep your hair healthy. Go for regular trimmings and try a new hairstyle a few months before.

For the million dollar smile

This is one area which most brides ignore and in this case ignorance is not bliss.  Decrease your tea and coffee intake to keep your teeth white as these drinks tend to stain the teeth. It’s a good decision to opt for the dentist’s professional bleaching services to get the perfect smile on your big day.

The D-day make up

First of all, before wearing your wedding day costume, fragrance yourself properly; so use good scented talcum powder after bath, use deodorant and a good quality perfume. Avoid using liquid foundation as it tends to smudge and wash away and you would need it on the entire night. So it’s better to go for either cream or powder based foundation. Pink blush is good for everyday use not for the wedding. Try to go for bronze or golden blush shades as it’ll give you a diva-like look for your wedding. As for the eyes, use an eye-shadow primer without silicon and feel free to play with shocking colors as they’d give a nice dramatic effect to your eyes. Always go for lipsticks instead of lip gloss for your wedding as they stay on much longer than gloss.
There are other tricks as well, but these are the most important ones. So follow these few beauty secrets which would make you forget your all make up woes for your wedding day; and look your best.

Hair Style for the wedding day

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  05:57   hairstyle

Everything makes up for a beautiful bride. Hair might not look like a major contributor to your wedding day appearance but it definitely is. What will a good make up do if your strands are not properly tucked? Worse, an unruly hairdo may ruin the effect of your bridal make-up. So here are some quick tips and types to help you get a prim and perfect hairstyle.

Face friendly

Every one of us has a definite face contour. Some have long faces, others have short ones, and some have an oval shape while others are sharper around certain edges. So while getting a hairdo, you need to keep in mind your face style. A bride with an elongated face should look out for a hairstyle that will add volume to her shape. Such people might leave a few strands on the sides of the face if they don't like the hair to be pulled back completely into a bun. This gives a very soft feeling to your face.

Compliments your dress

Your hairstyle must compliment your wedding dress. This is of utmost importance or else it will hamper your complete look. As for example, for off shoulder dress, you might opt for end curls. Leave a few strands loose on the shoulders. This gives a very subtle and romantic look. You must go in for trials with various hairdos before locking in on one of them.

Optional use of veils

In a certain traditional Indian weddings, the bride is expected to wear a veil over her head. In such situations, go in for a hairdo that can balance the veil. If it's a full length veil, your bun or hairdo should be steady and firm to support it.

Accessorize your hairdo

To add little more jazz to your hairdo, you can use certain accessories like flowers, hair broaches, etc. For broaches, keep a small dent on the bun to fit it perfectly.

Types of hairstyles

  • Traditional bun hairstyle: This is the often-used hairstyle in India. Pull up the whole hair in a bun, firmly knitted with clips and other stuff.
  • Sideways bun: It's similar to the above style with the only difference being the position of the bun. Here the bun is placed sideways.
  • French and braided style: this helps to keep you away from run of the mill stuff.

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  05:01

All of you are different in your way and thus are different your choices. It is very natural for everyone to have some specific choices and desires when it comes to planning a wedding and especially when you are the bride. Read the excerpt below and find out how you can opt for sleek and simple jewellery and look absolutely sophisticated.

Simple jewellery

The very little details to the bigger ones demands equal attention, and in the midst of everything the smaller details concerning the bride goes a miss. However, you still have nothing to worry, if you are keen on keeping it simple yet elegant for yourself. When it is about the jewellery thinking simple is easy, but getting hold of what exactly you want is difficult. However, just try to follow a few basic ideas to easily find the simple ornaments for yourself.

Budget planning

When you are thinking simple and sleek it is obvious that you already have something in mind. What thus, becomes your first step is to decide on the range. Simple jewellery does not always mean low in range. You will have to fix up a budget and chalk out what all ornaments you need. It might just be the earrings and the necklace. While at other times, it might even include bangles and nose pins etc.

Making the choice

Once the budget is fixed, try to browse through online catalogues of various stores to check the range available in that budget. It might be that you like a design offered by one store and you want it in diamonds and stones rather than simply gold.

Mix and match

Never mind, just copy the image or take a printout and order the same in your local store the way you want. Simple sleek jewellery is a sign of sophistication and generally must be a work of precious stones and diamonds.
It is not the heavy weight that matters for simple jewellery but its value is measured in terms of what it is made from.

Yet in haste, we forget a lot of important things that are necessary to make up for an enchanting bride. Here is a three month scheduler for you to help you get all that you need to be a stellar bride!

How to impress a guy 1 hour

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  03:59

There are more similarities between interviewing for a job and meeting a potential fiancé than most people realise. In both cases, both parties are bent on presenting themselves in a rosy light so as to secure the ultimate prize – whether it is a job or an engagement ring.

It is not unheard of for women to go on multiple such “first meetings”, only to be rejected by the potential groom in all cases. If it is happening too often, you need to step back and consider whether it is fair to lump all the blame on the guy. Maybe you should take a close hard look in the mirror and seriously consider whether it is really all his fault. Are you unconsciously behaving in a manner that would turn off even the most ardent of admirers in a matter of minutes?

Just check the following list to figure out whether you are not committing one of these cardinal sins that would cause you to lose a guy – any guy - in 1 hour’s time flat:

Wearing a ton of make up

Do you want to know what one of my pet peeves is? Well, you are reading this article, so I will assume that you do. To me, there is nothing tackier than lipstick stains on a teacup or glass. In fact, to me they are the epitome of tawdry. Do you really want to take the chance that you will accidentally set off one of your potential fiancé’s pet peeves? I did not think so.

Also, wearing a ton of make up means that you will constantly need to check it to make sure that you look all right. Checking your appearance constantly in the rear view mirror of the car, arranging and rearranging your scarf or stole every three minutes, fiddling with your hair throughout the date can be off putting, to say the least. It can give the impression that you are a vain and self centred person who is interested only in herself, and we don’t want that now, do we?

Being poorly groomed

The way you look speaks volumes about the way you look after yourself – or don’t. So ensure that you are thoroughly waxed, shaved and plucked before you embark on that all important first date with your husband to be. If there is a genuine reason why you cannot epilate, then wear something that does not draw attention to your arms and legs. Wear a salwar kurta/ jeans/ sari or anything else that covers your legs completely, and go for a full sleeved top.

Be a giggling girl

You know, like those girls, who are like, totally, girly, right? They are so totally uncool, like, right? Don’t be a girly girl who giggles over everything even remotely amusing. And do not put on a fake accent, even if you are a call center executive with a fantastic American accent.

Perfect guide for facials

By Mona Kapoor   Posted at  03:48
Are you under stress? Well, everyone feels jittery and this is a normal feeling but you should not let this feeling affect your skin. If you need a gleaming skin tone and want to look picture perfect you should follow a healthy skin routine and opt for the best facials that suit your skin.

Different types of face packs and facials are available for dry, normal and combination skin types. Therefore, you should be aware of your skin type so that you can follow the beauty aesthetics in the best manner.

Consult the dermatologist
If you have skin problems or extremely sensitive skin then you must consult a skin specialist before going ahead with any face packs or facials. You do not want to complicate your life by inviting itchiness, inflammation and skin rashes before the important day of your life. Whether you have a dry, oily or a combination skin, you must be very precarious and get bridal facials done after proper consultation.

You should maintain a daily skin routine which includes cleansing, scrubbing and moisturizing so that when you apply face packs and get special facials done, they will enliven your skin and you will be complimented by everyone for the healthy, radiant glow. You will look marvelous in your wedding pictures as well.

The best options
One of the most effective face masks that will make any bride look beautiful is the lemon and honey face mask. You should apply it three days before the big day so that you will look naturally pretty. The paste of honey, lemon raw egg and flour does wonders to the skin and you just cannot wrong with this face pack. Brides should not skip the vitamin masks as it provides nourishment to the skin. All the acne and unwanted particles settled on the layers of the skin are cleansed in the best manner.
